Today we have added a new design to our “Contmporary Wedding Cake Gallery”.  Design ref. 308 is a stacked design which is finished with a crown of large and small soft sugar roses and sprigs of jewels. It decorated with petals cascading down the sides of the tiers.

What a fabulous way to send off the bride and groom with these beautiful personalised ribbon wands that double as favors! A fantastic alternative to traditional confetti, bubbles, bird seed, petals, especiall as not many venues will not allow confetti. These wands are truly unique and look beautiful in pictures as each guest waves the colored ribbon when the bride and groom exit, and it is a wedding keepsake with your own printed message. Choose from a large variety of ribbon colors. The ribbon length is 66cm (26 inches). They are done with 15mm or 23mm ribbon so they stand out.

Here are the items you will need:

1. 15mm or 23mm Personalised Ribbon, (It takes approx. 66cm to make each wand- So 1×24m roll of personalised ribbon will make 35 wands)
1. one roll of gift wrap
2. dowels 12″-15″ (30-38cm) in length (plastic dowels are available from sugarcraft shops, or wooden dowels could be used)
3. 1 can of spray paint 4. styrofoam to fit the container you choose
5. a container- we used a round hat box.
6. hot glue gun and glue sticks
7. double sided sticky tape

To assemble:
1. spray your wooden dowels with the spray paint-let dry.
2. cut the ribbon into 66mm lengths.
3. tie ribbon onto ends of dowels- add a bead of hot glue to ensure it holds.
4. cover your container with gift wrap using double side sticky tape
5. cut styrofoam to fit into container
6. stick ribbon wands into the styrofoam
7. YOU’RE DONE- place them out for wedding guests (no more bird seed or confetti to clean up!)

    We have added 2 new products to our confetti range.  Gold and Silver rings.  These come in a pack of 288 and can be simply scattered on the table as confetti.  You can also use them to hold small scrolls or even attach them to your favours or napkins with some ribbon.http://www.cakesandfavours.com/store/x956.htmlTara

We are back to work as normal on Tuesday 27th May from 10am (were closed Mondays).  Please add on 1 week to the recommended order lead times. ( We recommend 4 weeks for DIY items and 6 weeks for ready to use and personalised items (these lead times also apply to samples).

Thanks to a post on www.WeddingsOnLine.ie we found this website www.moo.com 

 If you are looking for tags or stickers this site is fab.  Prices are good, minimum quantities are good and postage isnt bad either.  Their mini cards are about 1/2 the size of a regular business card.  If you punch a hole in them they are great for attaching to favours or tying amongst ribbon. 

 Their little sticker book contains these fab little stickers that you can use to seal your invitations and the stickers even have a glossy finish.
